Kathi, THANK YOU for fixing that wonky pink chain stitch half circle "thing" I had going on Lou's block. It does look like you're having fun and creating beauty at the same time!
Kathi your additions look great. Can't wait to see what else you do with it.
Chris when I did those semi circles on Kathis block I used a little bottle lid and marked them so they were all the same. I like to mark things so they come out just right. They do look really nice now that there is more added to them.
Thanks Ami, it has been really hard for me to just add to the seam treatments without adding all kinds of SRE and beading, but I figured that since Lou named it Victorian Roses, I had to put the roses on it, and I do plan on doing one SRE motif sort of like I did on Cris's although it won't be grapes. I know it will be full of roses. I also got Pam Kellog's seam treatment book on using waste canvas so I might do one of those designs cutting through a patch of fabric since all the seam treatments have something on them already.
Ami, I did use a half circle marker (only marking one at a time on plush velvet so the markings didn't wear away) and still ended up wonky. Just cock-eyed, I guess; but it also "proves" that a seam CAN be reworked until you do like it. I just made Kathi's "job" harder.
Kathi, sometimes I use waste canvas and sometimes I don't. If the piece doesn't demand perfectly spaced stitching, I figure the stitching can just be "organic".
